June was National Safety Month, so in addition to our water safety presentation, we were able to have the fire department visit us back in June. We were very honored to have Captain Armstrong and Captain Huck visit us to give a presentation on fire safety, as well as a tour of their truck! Anyone interested was able to view the truck’s several hoses, the jaws of life, some of the ax equipment, and other specialized tools.

The Captains joined us inside to review some basic information about fire safety and then graciously fielded questions from members and staff.

Some of the biggest takeaways were:
-Make sure your home has working smoke alarms
-Be sure you have working carbon monoxide detectors installed
-Have an evacuation plan and practice routes to get there

We went over a lot of great information and are very thankful to the Yarmouth Fire Department for stopping by this summer!
